Community Outreach
In 1993, the First Presbyterian Church founded the Little Falls Community
Outreach Corporation.  This organization, housed in the church building,
provides various kinds of assistance to children and families in the Little Falls
area.

Nurses’ Assistance:  Provide for dental emergencies, eye exam and
glasses, clothes and hygiene items for families.  We also provide additional
school supplies as needed for K-12th grade students.

Banana Splits:   In school small group weekly counseling sessions and a
support group for children K-5th grade. A pizza and banana splits party is
held at the end of the year.

Skill Building Group: Geared for middle school girls, the group’s focus is
healthy in body, mind, and spirit. The program is coordinated with the YMCA,
Fitness Farmacy and Yoga & Wellness to provide activities for the girls and a
parent or mentor to participate in together.  

Counseling Services:  Individual, family and marriage counseling services
by appointment.

E.A.P. (Employee Assistance Program):  Provided counseling services for
employees and families of Bassett Healthcare, Little Falls.

After School Homework/Tutoring:  Ten-week teacher recommended
program two days a week to help students in grades 4 and 5 complete their
homework, review concepts for daily classes and prepare for state testing.
Tutoring is also provided through the YMCA for all students in the Little Falls
City School District.


Lending Library: Materials continue to be available for Outreach staff and
school personnel.
